PM meets Covid-19 Taskforce

Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh met via a virtual conference with the national and provincial Taskforce Committees for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Vientiane Mayor and provincial governors on May 17.

He was briefed on the implementation of preventive and control measures against Covid-19 by relevant authorities since May 6.

The premier appreciated the taskforce committees, Party committees, and relevant authorities as well as people across the country for their participation in combating and preventing Covid-19 which has resulted in that the situation is stable and on a declining trend.

He also extended appreciations to medical workers, military personnel, police officers and relevant authorities for fulfilling actively their difficult tasks serving people around the clock for almost two years.

He also realized the priceless and prompt contributions from entrepreneurs and people as well as the governments and people of friendly countries for Covid-19 fight in the Lao PDR.

Prime Minister urged taskforce committees at central and provincial levels to accelerate improving their personal structure, ensuring their work regime can deliver smooth, prompt and effective results noting that it is crucial to have a concrete action plan in place, with personnel and other necessary resources allocated.

He urged relevant authorities to attach attention to preparing action plan on vaccine procurement and to administer the vaccines as much as possible and as soon as possible and draw lessons from friendly countries about effective Covid-19 medicines.
