The Prime Minister visited under construction Nam Ngum bridge, spanning over the Nam Ngum river between Nabong and Kokhai villages.
He also visited a group of organic farmers in Ban Thaxang. The group sells most of its farmed products to Vientiane Capital. The farmland area in the village is 200 ha. There are also 275 greenhouse farms in the village.
Prime Minister also visited the construction site of a Nam Ngum bridge in Na Bong. Launched in 2016, the construction project was almost 60% completed. The bridge is expected to be fully built next year. The bridge is designed to be 236 m long and 11 m widewith 1.5 m sidewalks.
Worth more than 105 billion kip, the project is grant assistance by Mr Sakxay Vongmalasith, mostly known as Peter Chan, President of the Lao World Group.
The Prime Minister also visited XP Trading Lao-China cow farm which was built in 2015. Sitting on 100 ha, the farm has over 100 modern cattle and 500 traditional cows. The farm plans to raise more quality cattle for export markets of Vietnam and China.
He also visited an agriculture and forestry research centre which houses more than 14,000 rice species, 105 wheat species, 48 cassava species, 77 sweet potato and taro species, 88 legume species, and 234 corn varieties.
