Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith on Monday sent a message of condolences to Indonesian President Joko Widodo over the losses and damages caused by recently earthquakes and tsunami in Palu, Sulawesi island.
Dated Oct 1, the message read:
I am deepest saddened to learn about thetragic earthquakes and tsunami that struck the Central Sulawesi, Indonesia on the 28th September 2018, causing loss of lives and extensive damage to properties of Indonesian people.
On behalf of the Government of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the entire Lao people as well as on my own behalf, I would like to convey my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathyto Your Excellency, the Government and People of Republic of Indonesia, especially the victims and affected families.
I am confident that under the leadership of Your Excellency, the Government and People of Indonesia will be able to overcome the difficulties of this disaster and restore the affected area to normalcy.
