PM urges greater efforts in Covid-19 vaccination

The Prime Minister Phankham Viphavan has signed an order urging ministers, provincial governors to urge authorities under their supervision and people across the country to take part in achieving a 50% Covid-19 vaccination coverage by this year’s end and 80% next year.

Signed today, the order urges relevant authorities to document unvaccinated population including those aged between 12-17 years old; identify the number of vaccines needed; prepare medical workers and equipment as well as financial resources needed for achieving the vaccination goal; expand vaccination services to dispensaries and villages accessible to target groups.

The premier urged the central and provincial Covid-19 taskforce committees and relevant authorities to come up with procurement plans for covid vaccines, medical equipment, and budget plan; use provided vaccines to their optimal purposes; popularize vaccination campaigns thus encouraging more people to get vaccinated.

The Lao Front for National Development, mass organizations, and the National Federation of Veterans are urged to assist medical workers in urging the public to receive Covid-19 vaccines and organizing Covid-19 vaccination drives.
