President Visits Japan-invested Cattle Farm in Xiengkhouang

President Bounnhang Vorachit on Jun 27 visited a cow farm of Xiengkhouang Agricultural Development Company in Phasay and Pek districts, Xiengkhouang Province.

The company is expected to build an integrated cow product factory in years to come. The company has been granted a concession of over 500 ha in the province and has invested over US$ 11 million over the past couple years.

It expects that around US$ 70 million will be invested by the company throughout the 30-year concessional period.

The company has imported 859 cow varieties, including 250 diary cows, from Australia in three different batches over the past two years.

More than 80 calves have been born from some of 700 artificially inseminated breeders over the past two months.

The President appreciated the company for choosing Xiengkhouang as its investment location, thus creating jobs for local people and urged local entrepreneurs to learn lessons from the company and apply them to their commercial production and asked them to give their cooperation to the company.
