The Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) held a meeting in Vientiane on Jul 1 with the business sector to discuss constraints and challenges faced by commercial banks, microfinance institutions, insurance companies, leasing companies and other financial businesses.

The results of the discussion are expected to be presented at higher level public-private meetings in July, September and the Lao Business Forum in October.

LNCCI Deputy Secretary General Souphaphone Khamsanam said that the government has so far made all efforts to improve laws, mechanisms, regulations to create favourable conditions for business sector. “Some complex issues have been resolved but some remain considerably challenging,” she said.
