A nationwide examination for year 4 and year 7 secondary school students in the academic year of 2016-2017, which will draw almost 160,000 students, will be held next month.
The final exam for year 4 lower secondary school students is scheduled on June 13-15, consisting of six subjects: mathematics, natural science, Lao language-literature, social science, civil education and English. This is the first year that English has been included in the exam.
There will be 97,000 year 4 lower secondary school students, of whom 40,000 are female, sitting the exam in about 4,000 rooms in 600 examination centres across the country.
Approximately 62,000 year 7 upper school students will sit their final examinations in four subjects: mathematics, Lao language-literature, physics and history, held in 200 exam centres on June 20-21.
