Secretary Kerry Leads off U.S. Institute of Peace’s “Passing the Baton 2017: America’s Role in the World”

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will discuss our nation’s top foreign policy priorities leading into the next administration during the U.S. Institute of Peace’s “Passing the Baton 2017: America’s Role in the World” event at the Institute at 9:30 a.m. on January 10, 2017.

The event is open to the press.

Secretary Kerry’s remarks will be streamed live on www.state.gov. Follow @StateDept using the hashtag #PassingtheBaton.

Pre-set time for video cameras is: 6:00a.m. – 7:45 a.m. from the 23rdt Street loading dock entrance of the U.S. Institute of Peace, 2301 Constitution Ave., NW., Washington, D.C.

Final access time for journalists and still photographers: 8:30 a.m. from the USIP 23rd Street entrance.

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver’s license, passport).
