Dancers from Singapore Dance Theatre performed at National Culture Hall in Vientiane on Wednesday night ballet masterpieces to entertain a crowded audience of Vientiane residents and other domestic and foreign ballet lovers in celebrating the 45th anniversary of Laos-Singapore diplomatic relations.
Wednesday’s performance began with Choo San Goh’s neoclassical masterpiece Double Contrasts, followed by an exceptional ballet, Evening Voices, made by Tim Rushton and concluded with Toru Shimazaki’s evocative Blue snow.
Yesterday night also featured traditional Mahaxay dance show by skilled dancers from the National School of Performing Arts.
We at the Singaporean Embassy are very pleased to bring the Singapore Dance Theatre to Laos for the first time. This event is a special event to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Singapore-Laos diplomatic relations, said Singapore Ambassador to Laos, Mr Dominic Goh.
Formed in 1988, the Singapore Dance Theatre is Singapore’s top ballet company, which has performed in many ASEAN countries, the U.S, UK, Australia, France and China.
Mr. Eksavang Vongvichit, President of Foreign Relations Committee, National Assembly, Vice Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Bouangeun Saphouvong, diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations were in the audience.
