Some 900 new Covid-19 cases and 12 new deaths attributed to Covid-19 have been reported nationwide over the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 124,193, including 7,980 active cases and 488 deaths.
Of the new infections, 213 were reported in Vientiane, 137 in Borikhamxay, 69 in Xayaboury, 64 in Huaphan, 49 in Xieng Khuang, 48 in Phongsaly, 40 in Xekong, 39 in Saravan, 38 each in Oudomxay and Vientiane(province).
Over 4.6 million people, representing 63.2% of population in the Lao PDR, have been vaccinated with at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, according to the Department of Communicable Diseases Control, Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, people given all recommended doses of Covid-19 vaccine has reached 3.7 million, representing 51.6% of population in the country.
More than 497,000 children aged 12-17 years old have been vaccinated with at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
Covid-19 vaccination is available nationwide at central and provincial hospitals, Chinese Temple (Vientiane), Lao ITECC (Vientiane), district hospitals, and other Covid-19 vaccination facilities designated by Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
