CLARK FREEPORT: A patriotic song calling on Filipinos to unite and defend the interests of the Philippines in the South China Sea was launched recently in Milan.
In a statement, Consul General Elmer Cato said the song ‘Pamana’ was written by him together with Kapampangan soprano Ma. Felisa Leigh Jocson and set to music by Baguio-based composer Bing Pablico.
‘The song was written in response to recent troubling developments in the West Philippine Sea and the urgent need for Filipinos to unite and rally behind efforts to protect what is rightfully ours,’ Cato said.
The MTV version of ‘Pamana’ recorded in the Philippines by Jocson was first seen and heard by an estimated 15,000 Filipinos who attended the Sandiwa Fiesta Europa at Parco Idroscalo in Milan last June 30.
It was performed live a few days later by Jocson, baritone Joseleo Logdat, and Koro Hiraya during the Amici Per Sempre III concert marking the 77th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Italy on 6 J
uly 2024.
