Thai Firm Donates Relief Aid Of US$ 173,000 For Lao Flood Victims

Thai company Banpu Power (BPP)has provided relief aid worth THB 5.5 million, approximately US$ 173,000, to help flood victims in Laos.

Between mid July and early September, several provinces across the country experienced severe floods brought by tropical storms with dozens of lives claimed. The deaths included 40 in Attapeu Province alone, 10 in Luang Prabang, four in Xieng Khuang and one in Bolikhamxay.

Floods have also left dozens of people missing and caused damages to people’s property, basic infrastructures, over 100,000 ha of farmland including over 90,000 ha of rice field, and almost 400 irrigation schemes.
