On Jan 4, three positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were reshuffled with Thieng Boupha being appointed as Director of the Institute of Foreign Affairs replacing his predecessor Yong Chanthalangsy, and Fongsamouth Anlavanh taking the post of Director of the Asia Pacific and Africa Department replacing Viroth Soundara.
Kham-in Khitchadeth, former Director of the International Organsiation Department, was replaced by Anouphap Vongnokeo.
The handover ceremony of the posts was held in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith, senior officials of ministries, and representatives of relevant organizations.
Addressing the ceremony, the minister praised the newly appointed directors and those who will assume diplomatic posts overseas, urging them to attach greater attention to fulfilling their political duties while firmly grasping the policy of the Party and government regarding national socio-economic development and integration into regional and international communities
