(KPL) Toyota Motor Thailand has awarded prizes to the winners of the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest 2019, the twelfth of its kind.
The award ceremony was held at Lao Plaza Hotel in Vientiane on Mar 20 in the presence of the Vice Minister of Education and Sports Khamphay Sisavanh, and Chief Operating Officer, Toyota Motors Thailand Mekong Division Pakorn Vongvitayapirom.
Toyota Dream Car Art Contest 2019 was split into three categories: under 8 years old, 8-11 years old and 12-15 years old.
The winner of the under 8 years old category was Miss Phoutthasone Malaykhit a student from Thongkang School in Vientiane. She was awarded 5 million kip.
The 1st and 2nd runners-up were Miss Chandara Vandybai and Mr Tonnam Phommaket who were awarded 4 million kip and 3 million kip, respectively.
The winner of the 8-11 years old category was Mr Nakhonexay Sylapany, a student girl from Sabaidee School in Vientiane. She received a 5-million kip award.
The 1st runner-up was Mr Aty Vongsackda, awarded 4 million kip, and the 2nd runner-up was Mr. Khamsavanh, awarded 3 million kip.
The winner of the 12-15 years old category was Miss Souphavady, a student girl from Huanghoung School in Vientiane.
She was awarded 5 million kip in cash.
The 1st runner-up was Mr. Thivakone Oudomphone. The student boy received 4 million kip; the 2nd runner-up was Mr Soutthiphong, awarded 3 million kip.
The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is among priorities Toyota gives to the society, particularly the education sector.
The first edition of the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest was held in 2011 to promote education for Lao students nationwide, said the Director of Toyota Lao Company Limited, Mr. Masa-Aki.
This year, there were more than 3,600 students joining the competition.
The winning drawings were selected by a committee representing the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Lao National Fine Art Institute.
The drawings of the top three winners of each category will be submitted to the World Contest in Japan, in July 2019.
