The United Kingdom has provided 321,760 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine to the Lao PDR to support its fight against Covid-19.

The handover ceremony was held on Jan 5, 2022 in Vientiane between the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the British Embassy to Laos Cashel Gleeson and Minister of Health Bounfeng Phoummalaysith in the presence of relevant officials of both sides.

As of Jan 6, the total of confirmed Covid-19 cases has reached 115,870 including 8,129 actives cases and 411 deaths, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
