Deputy Prime Minister Mr Somdy Douangdy met the Chinese Vice Minister of Agriculture, Mr Peng Youdong, and his delegation in Vientiane on March 20 during Mr Youdong’s working visit to Laos between March 20-23.
At the talk, the Deputy Prime Minister spoke highly of the visit to Laos by Mr Peng Youdong and his entourage as a significant contribution to strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between the two parties, states and people of Laos and China.
Mr Peng Youdong told the host that China would continue to strengthen cooperation with the Lao agricultural sector to promote sustainable development in Laos.
The two countries have signed a memorandum of understanding expressing their commitment to work together to restore forest coverage and promote the sustainable use of forest resources, and develop manufacturing, commercial production and processing industries.
