The second Vientiane International Half Marathon (VIHM) 2017 will take place at That Luang Square in the coming month.
VIHM 2017 aims to promote the importance of living a healthy lifestyle that incorporates regular exercise, the Vice President of the Lao Track and Field Federation, Mr Phimpha Siphoxay told at a press conference in Vientiane Capital on Feb 23.
Participants will enter the race for many reasons including improving health, supporting charity, developing unity, and promoting a greener environment.
The application fee for Lao runners is 120,000 kip per person for the half marathon of 21 KM, 80,000 kip for the quarter marathon of 10.5 KM, and 50,000 kip for the fun run/walk of 5 KM.
The fee for a foreign runner is US$40 for the 21 KM half marathon, US$30 for the 10.5 KM quarter marathon, and US$10 for the 5 KM fun run/walk.
This run offers a guaranteed exciting and challenging course for runners whom are either competitive or just enjoy recreational activities.
All the courses will take runners through the quiet and quaint city of Vientiane, weaving through historic streets and past cultural landmarks, while providing a unique experience for all runners. The run will start and finish at the well known landmark, That Luang Square.
