Vietnam Women’s Union Celebrates Laos’ 50th National Day with Embassy Visit

Hanoi: A delegation from the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), led by President Nguyen Thi Tuyen, visited the Lao Embassy in Vietnam on November 26 to extend their congratulations on Laos’ upcoming 50th National Day, to be celebrated on December 2, 2025.

According to Lao News Agency, Tuyen, who also serves as Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, conveyed heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the VWU Central Committee to the Lao Party, State, and people. She praised the achievements of Laos over the past five decades and highlighted the enduring friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. Tuyen emphasized the significance of preserving and enhancing the cherished traditions cultivated by the leaders of both nations.

Further elaborating on the collaborative efforts, Tuyen mentioned the ongoing training course organized by the VWU for 15 officials from the Lao Women’s Union, scheduled from October 15 to December 15. This initiative is part of the bilateral agreements aimed at fostering women’s affairs and strengthening ties between the two unions.

Looking to the future, Tuyen expressed optimism about expanding practical and meaningful cooperation activities between the women’s unions of both countries. She acknowledged the support of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam and Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh, hoping for continued progress in women’s development.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh commended the support and collaboration provided by the VWU to the Lao Women’s Union over the years. He acknowledged that the cooperation between the unions and the broader populations of both countries has bolstered mutual understanding, solidarity, and assistance.

The Ambassador reiterated the Lao Embassy’s commitment to working closely with the VWU and relevant agencies to implement cooperative programs. These efforts aim to further deepen the special friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
