A Friendship Medal has been awarded to the outgoing Representative of the World Health Organisation to the Lao PDR Mark Andrew Jacobs in recognition of his contribution to promoting Laos’ health sector and strengthening the cooperation and relations between the country and the UN agency.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith on behalf of the government of the Lao PDR presented the medal to Mr Mark Andrew Jacobs in Vientiane on Jun 18.

Minister Saleumxay congratulated Mr Mark Andrew Jacobs upon his fulfillment of mission in the Lao PDR and also spoke highly of his contribution to anti-Covid-19 efforts in the Lao PDR.

In reply, Mr Mark Andrew Jacobs expressed thanks to the government and people of Laos, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the cooperation and support extended to him over the past years.
