Xieng Khuang Governor, Mr Somkot Mangnormek and his delegation last Friday visited the ongoing construction of a shopping center in the province.
The shopping centre is designed to be a five-storey complex developed on 5,000 hectares.
The centre will consist of a shopping mall and offices, and will comprise about 14,000 square meters.
Work started in May 2016 and the foundation of centre is currently about 95 per cent complete.
The project, which represents a concession investment of US$8 million by a Chinese company, is expected to be complete in early 2018.
The Xieng Khuang Governor praised the Chinese company for its attention to details, the quality of the construction, and for putting safety first.
Once the shopping center is complete, it will serve tourists visiting Xieng Khuang Province, particularly during the 11th National Games 2018 which will be held in the province.
