A yacht capsized in the Nam Ngum Reservoir, Vientiane Province killing 8 on Sunday morning. 31 were rescued.
The yacht with 39 people on board capsized 40 m offshore in strong winds at around 9.00 am.
Once the incident took place, a rescue team was called upon immediately and by 16.30h 31 people were rescued, according to Vientiane Governor Khamphanh Sitthidampha.
All 8 bodies were recovered.
