Some 146 new cases of Covid-19 and one new death have been recorded over the past 24 hours, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
The total of confirmed covid-19 cases has risen to 15,605 including 5,463 active cases and 15 deaths.
The latest death was identified as a 45-years old man and returning migrant worker. He was a resident of Namek village, Khongxedon district, Saravan Province.
Of the new confirmed Covid-19 cases, 81 were classified as local transmissions and 65 as imported cases.
Most of the local transmissions were reported in Champassak 54, Bokeo and Savannakhet 6 each. Luang Prabang and Borikhamxay reported three local infections each as Oudomxay, Khammuan and Vientiane (province) recorded 2 community cases each.
Xayaboury, Xaysomboun and Vientiane reported one local transmission each.
The imported cases were detected in Saravan 21, Champassak 15, Savannakhet 12, Khammuan 7, Vientiane 5, Borikhamxay 3, Bokeo and Luang Prabang, 1 each.
