Laos reported two new cases of COVID-19, raising the total in the country to 60, according to the National Center for Laboratory and Epidemiology, Ministry of Health on Tuesday.
The two new cases include a 25-year-old woman, student at the National University who who have had close contact with two Thai man (illegal) and one women, they were took a bus from Savannakhet Provinceto Vientiane (On April 7 during 20:00pm- 5:40 am).
The last case is a 28-year-old woman (illegal) who returned to southern Laos’ Savannakhet province from Thailand.
Laos has now confirmed 60 cases of COVID-19, with nine people undergoing treatment in hospitals.
The country reported its first two COVID-19 cases on March 24 last year.
Lockdown announced in Saravan
Authorities have placed under lockdown the 15 villages Case 54 (a vegetable seller returning illegally from Thailand) had visited and had close contact with their residents.
The villages, in Saravan’s Kongsedon district, included Nateui, Namek, Satheum, Pom, Patsoum, Nakhok, Nongsenglao, Khamhai, Khoumkham, Laomixay, Non, Meunpu, Natan Dong, Talang, and Nahuad.
