Laos has recorded 336 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours including 189 imported cases and 147 local transmissions, according to Deputy Director of the Department of Communicable Disease Control, Ministry of Health, Dr Latsamy Vongkhamxao.

The new cases, detected among 2,342 people tested for Covid-19 yesterday, have raised the total in the country to 12,957 including 4,256 active cases and 11 deaths.

Of the imported cases, 128 were reported in Vientiane, 46 in Champassak and 13 in Khammuan and two in Savannakhet.

Most of the local infections were reported in Savannakhet at 128 with 12 and five documented in Bokeo and Vientiane, respectively. Khammuan and Saravan posted one local transmission each.
