Business people from Cuba and Russia sign memorandum of understanding

Meetings between Russian and Cuban entrepreneurs from the construction sector ended here after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries in Varadero, Cuba.

According to the website www.radio26.cu, more than 100 Russian business people have met for several days with Cuban representatives to examine ways and strengthen ties in topics related to construction and other fields, such as transportation logistics, agro-industrial cooperation, innovation, digital transformation, and tourism.

The director of the Matanzas-based Empresa de Proyectos de Arquitectura e Ingenieria (Empai), Jorge Luis Hernandez, informed that the Cuba-Russia Economic Business Forum was held as part of the meetings.

Meetings were held among Empai, the company General Contractor of Varadero Works (Arcos) and Russian planners.

Hernandez noted that the visit to the facilities of Varadero with exponents of various technologies in terms of manufacturing, including modern trends such as sustainable technology at the Melia Internacional Hotel, became part of the program of exchanges of views between the two sides.

The director explained that the Russian business people’s visit paves the way for new opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation, diversify and increase exports, and boost investments in the country, which is the key objective of the agreement.
