Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sok An, Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers has requested the Korean side to assist the Council of Jurists in the legislation sector.
H.E. Sok An made the request while meeting here last week with H.E. Je Jeong-Boo, Minister of Government Legislation of the Republic of Korea (RoK) ), said Mr. Ek Tha, Deputy Director of Press Department of the Council of Ministers.
In the meeting, he added, the Cambodian DPM briefed H.E. Je Jeong-Boo of the key role of the Council of Jurists in reviewing draft laws and legal documents. As RoK is well-known for advanced IT which helps a lot in the legislation work, H.E. Sok An asked the Korean side to share its experience on how IT could assist the legislation work, he said.
H.E. Sok An urged for cooperation between Cambodian and Korean law experts through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
For his part, pointed out Mr. Ek Tha, H.E. Je Jeong-Boo agreed with what mentioned by H.E. Sok An, stressing that e-government is one of the foreign direct investment promotion mechanisms. He also pledged to further support the legislation sector and IT in Cambodia.
