The construction of a reinforced concrete road stretching 14 km from Chinaimo Roundabout in Sisattanak district to Thatkhek intersection traversing Hadxayfong district has been 60 % completed.
The road is expected to be fully completed early next year.
We have achieved 60 % of planned construction activities. It is going to be a reinforced concrete road stretching 10 km, said on Aug 10 Chinaimo Road Construction Project Manager Mr Phounsombath Fuangmanivong.
We have completed the majority of planned drainage works and we have only 2 more kilometres to go and we hope that we will finish it by the end of this month, said Mr Phounsombath.
The construction of the road began in April 2016 as a sole investment by the government.
Worth US$50 million, the road is being built as a four-lane and 12-m-wide thoroughfare.
Once fully built, the road will better provide convenience for road users especially farmers in agriculture-based Hadxayfong district in bringing agricultural produce to markets in the downtown of Vientiane.
