Development work carried out by Maldives is remarkable: Li Ji Ming (Miadhu (Maldives))

Yunan Province Deputy Secretary General Li Ji Ming has stated that the work carried out by the Maldivian Government in developing the nation was extremely remarkable and that China recognizes such efforts.

He made the statement in an interview to Miadhu news, prior to the opening ceremony of the China-South Asia Exposition and Kunming Import and Export Fair.

Li stated the Government’s efforts were truly remarkable and that they can see the level of importance the present Government attached to the development of the nation.

He cited that the Maldivian contingent taking part in the expo’s had requested for additional stalls. However, Li stated that they were only able to grant a limited number of stalls for the fair. He added that this was a healthy indicator of the business environment in the country


Li noted that the Country’s Central Government had already kicked off deliberations on the Silk Route agreement signed by the two nations. He added that the negotiations were so far quite promising.

Chinese Foreign Ministry reported that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom of Maldives, Prime Minister ThongsingThammavong of Laos, Parliamentary Speaker ShirinSharmin Chowdhury of Bangladesh, and Deputy Prime Minster Hoang Trung Hai of Vietnam will take part in the opening ceremony of the expo that will be held from the 12th to the 16th of this month. The purpose of the fair to encourage regional development between China and South East Asia nations.
