The price of entry tickets for three well-know tourist sites in Vientiane Capital including the That Luang Stupa, and Vat Sisaket and Ho Phakeo museums has been slightly increased.
The increase of the price of entry tickets took effect in February this year. Prices increased from 2,000 kip to 3,000 kip for a Lao person and from 5,000 kip to 10,000 kip for foreigners, according to the Deputy Director of Vientiane Museum and Archaeology Department, Ms Khampueang Vongchandy.
“We have also extended hours of operation by two hours. The sites will now be open from 8:00 until 18:00 every day,” Ms Khampueang said.
The entry ticket fee for historical tourist sites in our country is quite cheap when compared to neighbouring countries and this led us to adjust our price for entry tickets.
The adjustment will provide more income for the tourism sector, as the number of visitors from both ASEAN member countries and non-ASEAN countries continues to rise, especially tourists from Thailand, China, Vietnam, Japan and South-Korea and Europe Union.
Last month, there were more than 66,000 foreign visitors to Laos.
