HPC Plants Over 1,000 Tree Saplings

(KPL) On 12 July, Hongsa Power Company � HPC – planted over 1,000 tree saplings to minimize the effects of mining and electricity generation of the company in host communities in Hongsa district, Xayaboury Province.

Also joining the tree plantation activity were Managing Director of Hongsa Power Company, Mr Kathayuth Chupoon and other staff members of the company and representatives of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand – EGAT.

HPC, operator of Hongsa Thermal Power Plant, the largest of its kind in Laos, has organized tree planting activities on annual basis since 2012. Since then over 500,000 tree saplings have been planted by the company in more than 160 hectares.
