Mr. Phouthone Meuangpak, President of the Lao Red Cross Society and his delegation had a virtual conference with Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society Tej Bunnag on Jun 15 to discuss humanitarian work.

The Thai Red Cross Secretary General expressed his appreciation for Mr Phouthone Meuangpak’s appointment to the post and reaffirmed that he will continue to nurture the long-standing relationship between the Lao and Thai Red Cross Societies.

Both sides reviewed the implementation of projects under the framework of cooperation over the past years and plans and priorities for years to come especially those related to capacity building on warehouse, blood-related activities, Red Cross volunteers, and young pioneers in target provinces and other projects.

The Thai Red Cross pledged to support emergency relief projects in flood-hit provinces especially Xayaboury, Bokeo and Khammuan.
