The leaving examinations for lower and upper secondary school students have been scheduled for Jun 13 and Jun 20 respectively.
Over 21,400 students nationwide are expected to sit the coming exams, according to Director General of Education and Sports Department, the Ministry of Education and Sports Xomphou Keopangna.
Mattayom 4 students will sit the exam over three days (June 13-15), while Mattayom 7 students will have only two days of examinations (June 20-21), Mr Xomphou said at a ceremony to mark the start of the leaving exams for Matthayom 4 and 7 students on Jun 10.
Six subjects have been listed for the Matthayom exams, namely mathematics, Lao language-literature, natural sciences, social-science, civil instruction, and English.
Subjects for the Mattayom 7 leaving exams include mathematics, Lao language-literature, one chosen natural science and one chosen social science.
The exam will be conducted at 28 exam centres for Mattayom 4 students throughout the country, with Vientiane Capital expecting 11,404 students to take the exams.
Meanwhile, over 10,000 Mattayom 7 students will sit their exams at 22 centres.
Some 2,248 invigilators will be deployed to examination centres across the country.
There are 160 secondary schools in Vientiane Capital, of which 58 are privately run.
