President Thongloun Sisoulith received in Vientiane on May 18 a courtesy call from member of the Council of State of Cuba and Secretary General of the Federation of Cuban Women Teresa María Amarelle Boúe and her delegation.
Expressing a warm welcome to the guest, President Thongloun highly valued the visit by the Federation of Cuban Women delegation, noting that it constituted a significant contribution to enhancing the good relations and cooperation between peoples of the two countries, especially between the Lao Women Union and the Federation of Cuban Women.
President Thongloun urged the Lao and Cuban women’s national organizations to continue to promote collaboration, information exchange, mutual assistance at regional and international arena, and visit exchange between the two countries.
He asked the two national organizations to play an active role in educating people in their respective countries, especially young generation, on the good relations and cooperation between the two countries, and continue to implement their memorandum of cooperation 2023-2027.
In reply, the Cuban guest assured the President that she will realize his recommendations and the results of her working visit to the Lao PDR.
