(KPL) The Ministry of Defence of Vietnam has granted over 13 billion kip to fund the renovation the Lao People’s Army History Museum.
The ground breaking ceremony for the renovation of the museum took place at the museum in Vientiane Capital on Jan 19.
The event saw the presence of the Minister of Nation Defence Chansamone Chanyalath, Minister of Nation Defence of Vietnam Ngo Xuan Lich and Vietnam Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung and relevant officials of both sides.
This event is a historic landmark and contributes to enhancing the longstanding friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations Laos and Vietnam, said Maj. Gen. Sonethong Phommavong.
The 13.5-billion-kip renovation of the museum is expected to be completed within 8 months from February 2019.
