(KPL) The Rendang Daging, one of best Indonesia foods and one of the World’s 50 best foods, has been presented at the 1st Indonesia Food Festival in Laos.
The 1st Indonesia Food Festival aims to promote Indonesian cuisine to the Lao people and foreign nationals living in Laos so that they will better know Indonesia through foods and music, said Indonesia Ambassador to Laos, Mr Pratito Soeharyo.
Jointly organized by the Indonesia Embassy and Mercure Hotel in Vientiane on Sep 15-16, the festival also aimed to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Indonesian Independence Day and strengthen people to people connection between the two countries with Indonesian foods and desserts.
Beef is slowly simmered with coconut milk and a mixture of lemongrass, galangal, garlic, turmeric, ginger and chilies, then left to stew for a few hours to create this dish of tender, flavorful bovine goodness, said Mr Dwito Nugroho, an Indonesia chef, while presenting an original Indonesian food to local and foreign guests.
The Indonesian dish is often served at ceremonial occasions and to honored guests. It’s not only delicious but also comes with a simple recipe.
