DHSUD kicks off Nat’l Shelter Month with grassroot stakeholders

Manila: The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has launched the National Shelter Month (NSM) 2024 to highlight sustained engagements with stakeholders.

In a news release on Wednesday, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar pointed out that collaboration between the public and private sectors ‘propel vibrancy’ in the housing and real estate industry.

‘Under 4PH Program, we are not merely building houses, we are transforming communities into resilient and sustainable living spaces, and we are improving the way of life of our people,’ Acuzar said.

He said government housing agencies could ‘turn challenges into opportunities through united front.”

Local government units, private partners, and attached agencies such as the National Housing Authority, Social Housing Finance Corporation, the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation, the Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund and the Human Settlements Adjudication Commission have started their month-long activities on Tuesday.

he agency’s regional offices in Bicol, Davao Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region kicked off NSM 2024 with a motorcade with other government agencies, as well as ‘Kapihan’, DHSUD town hall meetings or engagements with stakeholders.

Housing summits with private partners, free seminar for real estate practitioners, and project exhibits with private developers are also scheduled.

The DHSUD Central Office will also hold a program on Oct. 7, which coincides with the global observance of the World Habitat Day.
