Blazing summer in UAE with temperatures of almost 50ºC

The United Arab Emirates is preparing for another blazing summer after the National Meteorological Center on July 5 forecast that thermometers will reach almost 50 degrees Celsius this week.

According to reports, rising temperatures and more haze are forecast for the next few days and according to the latest five-day bulletin, temperatures will rise to over 45 °C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai for much of the week and on Sunday could reach 48 in the country’s capital.

Meanwhile, humidity could reach 100 percent in Sweihan in Al Ain this Wednesday, which experts say means the air is fully saturated and can no longer absorb moisture, not even human sweat and disrupts the cooling process.

Such conditions are largely caused by warmer seas, which increases evaporation, while higher temperatures on land mean the air absorbs more water.

This is not the first time the UAE has experienced scorching temperatures in the summer months, as last year, the temperature approached 50°C in the western region of Al Dhafra in Abu Dhabi and other regions, the CNM explained.
