Deputy Minister and Deputy Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, Ms Khambay Khatthiya, and representatives of relevant authorities launched in a ceremony held at Warehouse KM 17 in Xaythany district, Vientiane the delivery of relief items worth 573 million kip to people affected by flooding in Borikhamxay, Khammuan and Savannakhet.
The relief aid included 10 tons of rice, 20 tons of household utensils, 10 tons of hygiene products and 30 mosquito nets, totally worth over 173 million kip to Khammuan province; 15 tons of rice, 30 tons of household utensils, 10 tons of hygiene products, 50 mosquito nets, 50 mats, totally worth 258 million kip, to Savannakhet province; and 8 tons of rice, 10 tons of household utensils, 9 tons of hygiene products and 30 mosquito nets, totally worth over 141 million kip to, Borikhamxay province.
Early this year, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare dispatched relief items to the Provincial Labour and Social Welfare Departments to help flood victims in the country.
