Party Secretary General Thongloun holds online talks with Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen

On August 8, Party Secretary General and State President Thongloun Sisoulith held a video meeting with President of the Cambodian People’s Party Hun Sen.

The meeting materializes the cooperation mechanism between the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the Cambodian People’s Party.

During the talks, Secretary General Thongloun expressed his delight with meeting with the Cambodian leader, and his sincere congratulations on the Cambodia People’s Party’s landslide victory in recently held 7th Cambodian National Assembly election.

Both sides informed each other about noticeable achievements in socio-economic development in their respective countries. They also shared points of view on regional and international issues of common interest.

The Lao and Cambodian Party leaders highly valued the friendly relations, good neighborhood and long-lasting strategic partnership between the two Parties, governments, and peoples of Laos and Cambodia.

Secretary General Thongloun expressed congratulations on the formation of new government of Cambodia with Hun Manet elected as Prime Minister. He expressed his willingness to support the new government of Cambodia to further enhance the traditional cooperation between the two Parties and two governments.

He highly valued the great achievements the Cambodian Party, government and people have made in protecting and developing their country, and expressed his confidence that under the strong leadership of the Cambodian People’s Party with Hun Sen as leader, the Party, government and people of Cambodia will record greater achievements in their national development cause.

They agreed on further deepen the cooperation between the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the Cambodian People’s Party over years to come to bring concrete benefits to peoples of the two countries.
