Cuba expressed solidarity with Nepal after suffering earthquake

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, today expressed his country’s solidarity with the people and Government of Nepal, for the loss of human life caused by an earthquake in that Asian nation, from his account on the X social network.

Nepalese authorities reported that at least 157 people died and another hundred were injured by a nighttime earthquake, which also shook hard northern India.

The 5.6 magnitude earthquake had its epicenter in the western end of the Asian nation, 42 kilometers south of Jumla in Karnali province, and 18 kilometers deep, according to the United States Geological Survey.

Nepal is located on a major geological fault line, where the Indian tectonic plate pushes towards the Eurasian plate, forming the Himalayas, while telluric events occur regularly.
