BOC-Port of Clark exceeds July target collection by 10.39%

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Clark has exceeded its monthly target collection in July by 10.39 percent. A report from the Collection Division showed that BOC-Port of Clark has collected PHP396.91 million as against its goal of PHP359.55 million. The actual collection is also 21.51 percent higher compared to last year’s collection of PHP326.64 million. District Collector Ricardo Uy Morales on Thursday said the BOC-Port of Clark’s positive revenue collection performance can be attributed to the improved valuation and intensified collection efforts of the port. Aside from improved revenue collection, Morales said the ports’ intensified anti-illegal drugs drive also led to the seizure of some PHP68.65 million worth of shabu, high-grade marijuana or “kush” and marijuana-infused vape cartridges in July alone. Morales said he also initiated a meeting with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to further strengthen the port’s anti-illegal drug campaign. Likewise, he said the Aircraft Operations Division (AOD) convened all airline operators and ground handlers to ensure strict compliance with customs rules and regulations on the entrance and clearance of aircraft. Meanwhile, Morales lauded the men and women of the BOC-Port of Clark for their dedication to service leading to their consistent accomplishments. ‘The unprecedented accomplishments of the Port of Clark in July alone proved our dedication to fulfilling our missions. These will not be possible without your support to my leadership and the hard work you put into your respective duties and functions. Let us continue to be productive and together, let us make Port of Clark a premier gateway port of the Bureau of Customs,’ he said in a statement.
