Cebu City PNP gets 8 patrol cars in time for Palaro 2024


CEBU CITY: The city government here on Monday turned over eight new patrol cars to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In his speech during the commemoration of the 126th Independence Day at Plaza Sugbu here, acting Mayor Raymond Alcin Garcia said the turnover of brand new Toyota Vios patrol cars is right on time as the city will be hosting the Palarong Pambansa 2024 from July 6 to 17.

‘The eight brand new vehicles will soon see action during the Palarong Pambansa 2024. Finally, they are turned over to the PNP after how many months and months of waiting,’ Garcia said.

Members of the Cebu City Police Office drove eight of the new PNP vehicles during the Independence Day parade along the city streets.

In a video posted on social media, Councilor Philip Zafra showed the eight patrol cars driven towards the Cebu City Hall area.

‘These are our eight new police cars that were procured to help boost the anti-criminality program of the city government. These can be used by our police in their mobility, respons
e, and visibility undertaking among other things,’ Zafra said.
