On Nov 25, some 700,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine, Personal Protective Equipment – PPEs, and other medical equipment worth 10 million yuans were donated by the Chinese government to the Lao counterpart to support anti-Covid-19 efforts in the Lao PDR.

The vaccine and the medical equipment will be distributed to five northern provinces namely Bokeo, Oudomxay, Luang Namtha, Phongsaly and Luang Prabang. Meanwhile, the PPEs will be given to the Ministry of Health.

The handover ceremony was held virtually with China’s side represented by Deputy Minister of Commerce Qian Keming, Vice President of China International Development Cooperation Agency Deng Boqing, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province of China Li Malin and Chinese Ambassador to Laos Jiang Zaidong and the Lao side represented by Minister of Health Bounfeng Phoummalaysith.
