Cultural Exchange Cements Ties Between Lao, Cambodian Students and Host Families.

Binh Thuan: A cultural exchange event connecting Lao and Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City with Vietnamese host families took place in the southern province of Binh Thuan. The event aimed to enhance friendship and sustainable cooperation between Vietnam and its neighboring countries.

According to Lao News Agency, the annual event occurred on November 2 and 3, bringing together approximately 160 students. Participants visited local scenic spots and historical sites, and engaged in cultural exchanges with Vietnamese peers and host families. They paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh at a local museum and toured Duc Thanh school, an important site where Ho Chi Minh once taught.

The students took part in a knowledge contest focused on the life and legacy of President Ho Chi Minh and the historical ties between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Vice President of the HCM City Federation of Labour, Phung Thai Quang, emphasized the historical friendship among the three nations, particularly during their str
uggles for independence.

Quang noted that the homestay program provides critical support for Lao and Cambodian students, helping to foster familial bonds and acting as a bridge to international solidarity. Xaiyavong Duangmany, a Lao student at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, expressed that living in Vietnam since 2019 has allowed him and his friends to learn about Vietnamese culture and customs, which they regard as a second home.
