Gingoog city: The local government of Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, is resuming in-person classes following a review of the structural integrity of all school buildings. In an announcement on Wednesday, Mayor Erick Ca±osa said the resumption of classes will begin on Thursday, Oct. 16.
According to Philippines News Agency, Ca±osa noted that the restart of classes was determined through an assessment carried out by city government building and engineering officials, in cooperation with school authorities, during their meeting with him on Tuesday. “However, this is subject to continued monitoring and implementation of safety precautions,” Ca±osa said.
Gingoog City had suspended in-person classes on Oct. 13, following a post-earthquake assessment, in response to the 7.4 magnitude quake that affected most of Mindanao on Oct. 10. Meanwhile, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando Uy also lifted the temporary suspension of classes on Wednesday, which were suspended on Monday and Tuesday.
