Gov’t holds extraordinary meeting

The government held an extraordinary meeting on Apr 12 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh.

The meeting saw the presence of Deputy Prime Ministers, Vice President of the National Assembly, and ministers of line ministries.

The meeting approved three documents including a draft law on fine arts, a draft law on dam safety and draft amendments to the Law on State Assets. The laws are expected to be submitted to the 3rd Ordinary Session of the 9th National Assembly.

Delivering his closing remarks, PM Phankham said that the government has called on relevant sectors to consider reopening the country according to lessons learned in neighbouring countries.
