Hanoi to launch new tourism tours showcasing unique lotus products

The Hanoi Department of Tourism is collaborating with the authorities of Tay Ho district to develop new tours and routes that highlight the unique Bach Diep lotus. Specifically, the Hanoi Agricultural Extension Center (Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) supported Tay Ho district with 7,000 Bach Diep Lotus seedlings and lotus planting materials. Growing lotus in lakes in Tay Ho district not only brings economic efficiency, but also contributes to environmental protection and eco-tourism development. Hanoi currently has 600 hectares of lotus-growing land, attracting visitors with its exclusive Bach Diep lotus. Lotus products have been popular since ancient time to Hanoians, with the ‘thien co de nhat tra’ (the most premium tea of all time) lotus tea in Quang An district, lotus seeds that inspire various dishes such as: sticky rice with lotus seeds, che sen long nhan (longan lotus sweet soup) or candied lotus seeds. Traditional lotus products will pave ways for new tourism products such as c
ulinary, handcrafted and sight-seeing tours in Hanoi.
