Some 301 new cases and two new deaths associated with Covid-19 have been confirmed nationwide over the previous 24 hours, bringing the total to 25,217 including 6,498 active cases and 22 deaths.

Of the new cases, only five were imported cases with three documented in Vientiane and two in Savannakhet.

Most locally transmitted cases were detected in Vientiane 150, Savannakhe 32, Luang Prabang 31, Xaysomboun 28, Champassak 19, and Vientiane (province) 17.

Bokeo reported seven local infections as Borikhamxay recorded five, Khammuan detected four and Luang Namtha posted three.

Over 5.06 million people nationwide have been vaccinated against Covid-19 as of Sep 30, 2021 with 2.98 million given first doses and 2.08 fully vaccinated, according to the Centre of Information and Education for Health, Ministry of Health.
