Vietnam has sent 12 tons of medical supplies and four medical experts to Laos to assist the Lao People’s Army in its battle against COVID-19.
The medical supplies, worth over 129,000 U.S. dollars, consist of 500 kg of chloramine B, 5,000 N95 face masks and 100,000 medical face masks, 5,000 pieces of protective clothing, 1,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, 1,000 rapid Covid-19 test kits and 100 portable thermometers.
A hand-over ceremony for the aid package was held on Monday at the Laos-Vietnam international border checkpoint in Nam Phao, Borikhamxay between Maj. Gen. Nguyen Hung Thang, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff of the General Department of Logistics, Ministry of Defence of Vietnam, and Lt. Gen. Khamphet Sisanon, Director of the General Department of Logistics, the Ministry of National Defense.
Lt. Gen. Khamphet Sisanon expressed thanks to the government of Vietnam, especially the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam for their assistance to support Covid-19 fight in the Lao PDR.
