Mendoza secured the girls’ 7-10 title with a total score of 142, following her impressive rounds of 70 and 72. Her performance was marked by a commanding 33-shot victory over Ana Marie Aguilar, who finished with a score of 175, and Faith Reosura, who completed the podium with 189.
According to Philippines News Agency, Mendoza’s victory added 15 points to her tally, bringing her total to 45 points and placing her at the top of the rankings, surpassing former leader Soleil Molde. This win also guaranteed her a spot in the Elite Junior Finals, set for September 30 to October 3 at The Country Club. Reflecting on her performance, the 10-year-old Mendoza expressed satisfaction with her improved putting and stressed the importance of maintaining consistency in future tournaments.
In the boys division, Ethan Lago emerged victorious with a total score of 146, achieving a nine-stroke lead over Lucas Revilleza, who finished at 158. James Rolida secured third place with a score of 170, followed by Tobias Tiongko at 182 and Shaqeeq Tanog at 183. Lago’s victory marked his second win in the JPGT series, following his success at the Mactan leg. Lago shared his excitement about the win, expressing happiness and satisfaction with his performance.
